As summer fades away and autumn kicks in we’re really starting to really look forward to our Winter Ball on the 28th November! We’ve had some concerns about paying full price for the tickets now with so much uncertainty about coronavirus, so we’ve launched a deposit scheme! With schools going back children who have been living in abusive households finally get an escape – we’ve launched The September Pledge where we’re asking people to share our post and make a donation to support those children in need – check out our social media if you want to get involved (@lwacharity – Insta, Twitter, FB)
The UAVA helpline has been innundated with calls, with 630 recieved in just 4 weeks. We’re working hard to help everyone that we can. We are now doing covid safe face-to-face sessions again which is great for us and our Service Users.
In good news – a Loughborough-based mother and daughter duo have launched a new natural skincare brand and they are donating a % of their profits to LWA! We are so grateful to them for supporting us! We had our Virtual Loughborough Half Marathon over August, thank you to everyone who took part! A big congratulations to Chrissie who was the fastest person to complete the 13.1 miles.
More good news – the Rotary Club of Loughborough have made a donation to us from their Benevolent Fund which members have been donating what would have been their event fee into for the last few months! Thank you for choosing us for your donation. Morrisons in Loughborough also had a donation bucket out for LWA, so thank you to everyone who put coins into that as you finished your shopping!
