Training and Events

LWA regularly organises training events and conferences. In addition to planned events LWA can provide in-house training packages.

 

LWA Training

Living Without Abuse offers a range of training around domestic abuse and sexual violence. The aim of our training is to facilitate the development and enhance the skills of individuals who may come across domestic abuse and/or sexual violence in their workplace, or those who may want to enhance their knowledge in this area.

Our dedicated training team have a range of relevant qualifications and years of experience of training, developing training, and front-line work with victim-survivors of abuse. Our trainers bring a diverse range of skills and specialisms, which ensures that we continually develop and deliver the highest quality training.

 

LWA Training Packages

LWA offer in-person and online training for professionals. We offer a range of training, including:

  • Domestic Abuse Awareness (can be offered in an e-learning format at a cost of £30pp)
  • DASH Risk Assessment Training, including information about MARAC.
  • Stalking and Harassment.
  • Coercive Control.
  • Elder Domestic Abuse.
  • Honour-Based Violence, Forced Marriage and FGM.
  • Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence in Teen Relationships.
  • The Impact of Domestic Abuse on Children and Young People.
  • Vicarious Trauma and Burnout.
  • Trauma Informed Practice.
  • Domestic Abuse Awareness for HR and Workplace Management.

 

Our training sets are delivered as either a half-day or full-day interactive sessions. Please see below for details and prices.

 

Half-day Sessions Include:

  • 3 hours ‘live’ delivery online or in-person for teams of up to 16 people.
  • Interactive session with activities and scenarios relevant to the course content.
  • Certificate of completion and a copy of training materials.
  • Half-day training cost for teams of up to 16 people – £400*

* Plus travel expenses if in-person training is outside of the Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland areas.

 

Full-day Sessions Include:

  • 6 hours ‘live’ delivery online or in-person for teams of up to 16 people.
  • In-depth exploration of the course content.
  • Interactive session with activities and scenarios relevant to the course content.
  • Certificate of completion and a copy of the training materials.
  • Full-day training cost for teams of up to 16 people – £750*

* Plus travel expenses if in-person training is outside of the Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland areas.
